Janne Kristin Stangeland

Janne Stangeland is a graduate engineer in biotechnology at UiT The Arctic University of Norway, specializing in marine biotechnology. She is particularly interested in finding out how the food we eat affects our body, and at Møreforsking Ålesund she is involved in research related to the health effects of eating food from marine sources. Much of the work is done in the laboratory, but she is also often out in companies, at fish landings and fish farms in connection with sampling. Her core competencies lie in analytical chemistry, microbiology and molecular biology.

After completing her education in Tromsø she has worked at UiT, among other things involved in research on bioactive peptides from marine and terrestrial organisms. She has also participated in research projects related to "drug transport and delivery" at the Department of Pharmacy in Tromsø, as well as in physical pharmacy, aseptic production and biopharmacy in the pharmacy education at the same place. Janne joined Møreforsking in May 2014.
